Towing
I was wandering if anyone has used a weight distribution hitch system when towing a large trailer. I have the air suspension and was wandering what the best setting would be also.
V8, with air suspension and nav system, Factory receiver.

I may be wrong here.... but I believe there is a section in the owner's manual (yea, that's an easy read
Now that I have the hitch... I s'pose I should read more about it. ![]()

I think he is right regarding the weight distribution hitch. I also have the factory hitch and this spring I will be towing a 3600 pound camper (pop-up) Also have the air suspension and will plan on using the auto selection, lets hope it works. [-o<
I plan on reading more in the manuel too. |

I pull a 23ft. Wakeboard boat (around 4000 lbs.) with a standard hitch and use the comfort setting. I was told by the dealer that the weight distribution hitches are not recommended. I like the added softness of the comfort mode when I have that much force pushing down on the rear of the car.
It is amazing how nice the ride is with the air suspension option despite pulling a heavy trailer. It is also great to have the self-leveling feature. Within seconds of hooking up the trailer the cars levels it self nicely. Much safer than towing with sagging suspension in the rear and extended shocks in the front like my old Jeep. By the way I don't think the air suspension setting matters that much. It is more up to your personal preference. Happy towing. Oh ya, use the triptronic to downshift because the towing eats up the Treg's brakes fast!
