Angry HEADLIGHTS PROBLEM- low beams/daytime lights

05 trg

Can anybody tell the difference between the running day lighs and the low beams when turning them on at night? I was able to tell the difference in my old Jetta.

The dealer just replaced my left bulb- but the difference in color and light intensity between both left/right is too much- is this normal?

I stand in front of the vehicle looking straight at the headlights when my wife turns them on- and I see no difference in brighteness.- is this normal- on one hand the owner manual says that is dangerous to drive at night with daytime running headlights because of the illumination diffrence- but on the other hand the dealer tells me that there should be little or no differnce when turning the low beams on.

To clarify, this are two issues

1- a change of one lightbulb - made let very different from right in color and brightness
2- lightintensity of both headlights is the same when on DRL mode or low beams on.

re;Do you have the Xenon lights?

Well, I honestly do not know. They are the factory one that came with the vehicle. They are kind of bluish color, if that makes any diference, at least the old one is. I attached some pictures.

I don't see any difference in brightness between my DRL's and low beams.

PR-USAF, you do have xenons, as evidenced by the dual projector units in your headlights. Halogens have a projector main headlight and a reflector high beam. DRLs with the xenons are at 100% strength, as the xenons can't be dimmed. Halogens are dimmed down from full power for DRL use.

As far as color difference, there may not be anything you can do, other than change the other bulb with a matching one to the new one as soon as possible to make them "wear in" together. Xenons eventually do "burn in" and the color does shift in the first 100-200 hours of use, and settle in on their color temperature after that. The pinkish color of the passenger-side bulb in your photo looks similar to what was happening to mine this past summer. I had both bulbs replaced, and all is better now.

Hope this helps,
Matt

THAT'S A RELIEF, THANKS A LOT.
ANYBODY KNOWS A SITE WHERE I CAN FIND PARTS FOR TOUAREG? BULBS, BRAKE PADS ECT?
I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT IT IS REQUIRED TO CHANGE THE ROTORS ALONG WITH THE PADS WHENEVER PADS ARE SERVIVED ON TOUAREG.
IS THAT TRUE? ANYBODY?

Yes, you are supposed to change rotors as well as the pads. Some on here will argue that fact, but it is recommended by VW to do so. See Goeff from Alretta when you are ready to do that task. He has a thread in the classified section.

There is an on going debate over the rotor replacement issue, here is the link.

http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/ge...o-you-say.html

Geoff at Alretta is a member and seems to offer a really good brake package for the Touareg this is his webiste www.alretta.com

As for other parts there are a bunch, a few sites that come to mind are

"VW Parts" - "Volkswagen Parts" - Parts and Accessories Catalog.

Touareg Accessories & Parts : TregCentral

Auto Parts at AutohausAZ - OEM Auto Parts - Discount Replacement Parts, Resources and Car Care Tips

Good Luck with your search.
