Headlamp connector?

Can someone please tell me how to release the locking tab on the connector on the rear of a T2 light housing? I have the headlamp housing hanging but cant pull the connector off. Its driving me nuts that i cant figure it out and its right there.

Thanks!!!

If you're referring to the wiring connector between the bulb and bulkhead, it's tabbed. Press and it should release.

If you mean the housing itself, there's a plastic lever you need to swing out and once loosened from its anchor you wriggle the housing out.

The housing comes right out, its the main power plug in back of the housing the runs all the bulbs that I cant release.

I don't know if the T2 is the same as the T1 (I imagine it is), and I'm not sure which harness you are looking at releasing. If its the stationary one that the light fixture slides into, mine more or less just lifted out without much trouble, it seems like it works best if you raise one side sooner than the other, I didn't really have to click any tabs but it stays firmly in place when I put it back in.

If you are looking at releasing the connector behind THAT, you have to release the little tab on it, then the harness slides sideways (not up). My driver side slides towards the engine bay, I haven't done the passenger side.

Hope that helps -

If you could take a picture that would help. The T2 is NOT the same as T1s.

No, what I meant was that the assembly and connections is totally different so I assume that the wiring is also. But we seem to be trying to understand what exactly he's after so I suggest in the era of iPhones etc. that he reach out and snap one so we can understand what he's asking for. I can't remember having any problems dismantling the headlights...

Thanks guy's but I did finally figure it out. I found another engine connector that was similar and easy to get to. Once i figured that one out the same procedure worked on the headlamp connector.

Siberian, just finished my HID install. I slit the original clips and reused them. Clipping in the new bulbs was a bit more difficult then I thought but pulling the headlamp housing helped a lot. I am still a little concerned about the how the clips locked in. They don't work as well once cut.

Otherwise the system works great.

That's the only way as cutting the wire, as was suggest by some idiot with chinese bulbs is not to be done.

The clips should lock in the same, make sure you have the bulb oriented the right way and the the clips are well locked. You do NOT want those things springing loose.
