Good Times At The Shop!!!

In many ways, this thread may be a little sick in the head, but it my experience was a blast.

I took yesterday off from work to spend at my friendly - not so damn close - VW dealership yesterday to work on troubleshooting my hum/vibration problem. I was at Gebhardt in Boulder, CO.

I get there about 8:30 and the car goes into the shop. I needed to have a speaker replaced after it blew out. I had to have the steering column lubed to get rid of the dreaded "creeking sound" and I needed an alignment after a pull to the left developed. (no I hadn't whacked a curb or anything.)

So, all that gets done and I had the great time hanging out at the shop. I drove a brand new 05-V6 as a comparison to mine and to see if the hum/vibration in mine, was simply in my head. The '05 drives much better than my 04. The engine/transmission systems talk to each other much better. There is a noticible difference with the additional 20hp and it was hum/vibration free.

Now, as a comparison, I also took out an '05 V8 which happens to be my absolute favorite color combos (campy white with teak/anthracite interior - damn it's pretty).

Back to focus: The V8 is a beauty. I love the sound of the exhaust rumbling back there. It makes you want to be on the gas all the time

But, just like the 05-V6 - no hum/vibration!!!

So, now my service guys (Mark Clemens and Chris the TOAUREG guru) are back in hunting mode to see what needs to be done to get rid of my vibration.

Mark & Rhonda let me pick their brains on issues and they were great sources of info and many laughs. Oh, I was also dubbed the "Customer of The Month" and was given a small prize. This was also part of the laughs portion of my day.

Mark & Rhonda --- thanks for a good time while getting serious work done!!!!!
