Gas Mileage Poll - V10 TDI

This ought to produce some interesting results.

Please only take part in the poll if you have a minimum of 3000 miles on your TReg. This should be a sufficient usage barrier to produce "normal" mileage results.

Also, please be aware of the engine type when voting. This poll is only for the V10 TDI.

I've V10 TDI
with air nav parktronic bizenon keyless-ignition/entry (brilliant job the keyless, never use the key to lock or open or start engine)
great machine, fast powerful.
21 mls per 4.546 litres (imperial gallon) this would equate to 17.5 mpg US (3.78 litres).
Short runs of 3 mls round trip to my local town achieves only 15.7 mpg imperial.
On 6 hour drives it does 26mpg imperial.
The computer over last 4,600 mls listed 21.6 mpg imperial.
I'm thrilled.
It currently has aribag light constantly on since last week.

My MFI reads in the 19 mpg range but I've only got 500 miles on the odometer, so no sense casting a vote yet. I would imagine it will only improve - unless I keep enjoying all 553 ft-lbs of torque!

Rich, you must be pushing to hard on the throttle or doing a lot of stop and go driving or very high speed driving. I saw last night that I had 19.6 and I've only got 500 miles.

You need to get out on the highway. 21 to 22 mpg for a 50 mile trip at 75 to 80 mph is what I seem to be getting early on.

The more I drive the car the better mpg I get. I should'nt have votted, since my got only a little over 500 miles. When it was 250 it was 16.8/mpg. At 350 incressed to 19.3. I can safely say, by long term, 60% local & city, 40% highway, the car should give you around 20 something mpg. My 04 Passat TDI at 1200 miles, I got 32.6 mpg. By comparing the Treg is not bad. This Treg just likes to run like a racing horse. And it gives the best ride money can buy. The Passat feels much heavier. Even the 4.2 Allroad I traded in can't match up to 70% of the v10. Maybe that is why Audi is going to stop making them.
