Filter Housing

Just completed my 2008 oil change and found my filter housing dome was leaking. I used a new crescent wrench to remove it and the sharp edge sliced it just enough so it leaks though the slice. Anyone know the part number for the oil filter housing dome on a 2008 4.2L.

Thanks in advance

Call your dealer. They will get you one next day assuming they don't have it in stock.

I guess I am the only one in history who has ever screwed on of these up. I have done audi 4.2 and all other 4.2 fsi searches and no luck.

Anyone out there with an alldata account that can provide a part number??

I guess I will just back into the dealer Monday because I know what I got coming.

I did the same thing about a month ago. Looked fine then leaked when I started the truck. 4.2 FSI. I think a socket will work better then a wrench. I don't know the part number, I called the dealer, they have my Vin# and ordered it for me. They won't have it in stock most likely. I think it was 50 bucks.

Its just a simple OEM only part that you can get at your dealer parts counter so I'm not sure why what you're searching for. If you must buy online you can probably find it at 1stvwparts.com or someplace similar (ie: a dealer with a web outlet)

Is it possible to repair with 2-part epoxy (J-B Weld) until a replacement part can be located?
