DIESEL options in the USA?
Hi,

I don't own a Touareg yet. I am hoping and waiting for the V6 Diesel or even a V8 Diesel to arrive in the USA.

Does anyone have an idea when more diesel models will become available? I wrote VW, but I have not received a response yet.

Also, will be they be available as manuals or automatics or both?

Maybe 2006, maybe 2007, maybe 2008, maybe not at all. Depends on whether VW can make more money selling them in Europe or here. Don't hold you breath for any firm response from VWOA.

The waitting time in europe for the V6 TDI is 12 months...

VWOA did respond to my inquiry. They have no plans to release a V6 or V8 TDI in North America at this time.

But hey, at least there is the V10! It is a pretty nice ride.

I suspect the v6 tdi will be the biggest seller in Europe.
dont know why the US doesn't have them? you guys usually get everything else first ( biggest market et al) The v6 diesel is sweet & punchy, but why bother with a diesel if your petrol is so cheap?

If the V6TDI doesn't come to the U.S. - that will be a major disappointment.
