It appears everytime the ambient temperature drops below 0 degrees farenheit my check engine light comes on then goes off once the temp rises above 10 degrees or so. The dealer replaced one of the exhaust sensors approx 3 months ago. Has any one else seen this?
Took it in to the dealer for routine service and a coolant leak. Turns out the code came up as a misfire on cyl 1 and 8. Probably due to the -15 temps we had over the weekend. It had to sit outside overnight and ran a little rough when I first started it.
They check for water in the fuel?.not sure if you do this already but I always use diesel conditioner on my TDI. Always helpful in the extra cold weather...
I have been using Power Service in the white bottle since November and use the silver bottle in the summer. This is in addition to the diesel already being blended here for service down to -20 F.
Funny you should mention this - I had a bout with an electrical gremlin right after an extensive rain event and cold weather here. Got the Brake Fault workshop, a TPMS warning, and a check engine light as well. After the next morning only the check engine light remained, and then that went away after a day more and I am left wondering what really happened if not some kind of ground fault?
