Changed remote battery, now Keyless Entry doesn't work with any remote
I was getting the "Key Battery Empty" warning on the MFI this morning, so I went and purchased a new remote battery. When I installed it and went back out to the car, it wouldn't open via the door handle or by hitting the unlock button on the remote. I used the metal key to unlock the door and start the car, which seemed to work fine, but now keyless entry doesn't work for either of our two remotes. Both keys start the car, and both remotes still work when you press the buttons. Previously (earlier this morning), both remotes worked every time, from any door.
Is there anything I can do to try to resolve this issue? Reset the computer somehow?
Anyone? It's hard to believe that this is actually a hardware fault (from all of my searches on the forums, it seems the most common fix is to replace parts), considering it occurred when I changed the remote battery.
In terms of the keyless entry, I have not encountered this issue, but my understanding is that if the little red light on the fob blinks when you use the fob then the battery should be fine. Assuming good batteries, after using the key once in the ignition, the transponder for the keyfob should be reinitialized. If the keyless entry is still not responding to the fob's transmission after this, I would say the problem does not lie with your keyfobs
