Question Broken plug/wire. What is it??

I have a 2008 Touareg with V8. I was changing my air filter today and I noticed this wire and plug was broken off. It's on the driver side and the plug goes beside the air filter housing into a sensor that in a metal hard line. Im guessing AC or something like that maybe. Does anyone know exactly what it is?? No errors have come up and nothing on my VAG Scan. I ordered a new plug and wire ends since I can't get the old ones out. Just figured i would check and let me know what it was going to. Thanks guys!

No pics = ???

Lot of pigtails are left out for testing and programming at factory.

There are two pictures in the original post. Can your device not see them?

Sensor error won't trip until you use the AC, as the system send a current to the sensor. If it can't reach the sensor, you'll get a code. Looks like it was yanked out pretty hard by something. No chew mark, so, critters may not be to blame.

Something changed about the site in the last few months, and I noticed my adblocker now blocks attached photos. I haven't bothered figuring out which site I need to whitelist to get them back.

Yeah i mean it's possible but i dont think i did it, maybe i did when trying to get to my air filter. I have changed them multiple times but i guess maybe just this time i was too rough. Either way the new one should be here friday so i can splice it in. My AC is working fine and all is good but i only drive a few mins to work so not big deal. Thanks for all the help though as to what it was.
