Any Word on 2009 Changes?
Been looking at 2008s.
Local dealer is getting a 2009 in. I thought I read somewhere the '09s will have a better Nav. w/bluetooth, better iPod interface, and a touchscreen. Any word? |

I don't think there will be more differences than you mentioned above. Cayenne and Treg share platform and even in Cayenne 09 the only difference is the Touch Screen Nav and bluetooth. |

What kind of deal did you get?
After some research I found the warranty will be reduced from the current 4 yr. / 50,000 mi. to 3 yr. / 36,000 mi., but includes free "scheduled" maintainence. Both the 2008 and 2009 offer a 5 year 60K powertrain warranty. Also some info on the new Nav - the RNS-510 RNS 510 radio navigation system for the Volkswagen Touareg It looks like you could put one in an '08 or earlier if desired. |

Your best deal will be with Chris, VW of Longhorne (I guess I spelled it right) http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/f4...rne-18834.html. I live in Atlanta, 800 miles from PA so was willing to fly to PA for the deal but the guy in Atlanta after giving me very high initial numbers matched their deal so I decided to stick with them. I have not looked at the final numbers but I guess in the end I got it $2000 below invoice, let me know if you need the exact numbers, I can look it up. The car arrived at the stealership today but I will pick it on August 4th. Wifey is sitting for an exam on August 4th and don't want too much of exicitement at home. About the new Nav, I read on this forum a thread where a guy is willing to sell the new Nav for 2k. The T reg will arrive at VW of Longhorne and he will export it to Europe and as the new Nav is useless there so he is selling it. I guess the dealer will be shipping the Nav to the buyer. http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/f4...0-a-19047.html |

This is what you get in a 2009 Touareg with the available Technologie package.
Includes multi-color display featuring multi-function trip computer, multi-function onboard computer and large multi-function combi-instrument display which allows a more detailed and multi-colored depiction of information.

I was wondering if you US guys can give me an indication of the monthly pricing , when you lease a vehicle like a V10 Treg. I assume the leases are operating types, ie: you nominate the mileage and pay a monthly figure, and then as long as the car is in good shape you just return at end of lease. So what is the monthly cost on a V10, just for comparison, please state purchase price so I can compare with exchange rate.
Period say 3 or 4 years.

Looks very similar to Australian pricing, but the car costs 40% less than it does in Australia ? 25 cents a mile for extra distance doesn't seem to bad either $250.00 for every Thousand miles over 36,000?
I didn't do the effective rate calcs but it seems you put about $7000.00 up front,( Dealer and purchaser) leaves about $33,000 to finance, interest payable seems to be about $1500.00 based on the residual. I suppose one can only work out how good this deal would be if you could find the best cash price and then see if there is a high interest margin in the deal. Thanks for the info. For example in Australia to do a lease deal or (HP) you would be looking at a vehicle in the $80,000 to 160,000 price range, and depending on residual , you could be up for seriously more than the US deal, just on price alone. Australian interest rates for HP are around 10% I'd say.

Gulf Specs
I will be relocating to the UAE and I just bought a 2008 Touareg 2 months ago. I'm thinking of shipping it over there but I'm being told that the are different Aircon specs and radiator specs for hot countries like UAE? DO you know whether the Touareg which I understand is built in Slovakia comes in different specs for different countries?
Thanks |
