A/C Blower motor

I just replaced mine with a new one after the old one stopped working. (I lubricated it a few times and it only prolonged the inevitable.)

My problem now is that when I start the car, the fan seems to blow at full speed when I put it in auto. However, after about a minute or two, it seems to slow down to what amounts to about 3 bars on the fan display, even though the display shows it's at full. I know it's at 3 bars because when I try to lower the fan speed using the button, it doesn't change until I get to about the 3rd bar. It never goes higher until I stop the car for a few minutes.

Any idea what my problem could be? Could I be needing a new capacitor/resistor or whatever user Holland posted near the bottom of page one in this thread: http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/f6...tor-21543.html ?

The part # he shows there is 7L0907521. Here's a translated ebay page with the part: Google Translate

Any input on this? Also, I've taken out that blower motor several times using one of the tutorials on this forum, so that's a piece of cake. Anyone know where this capacitor/resistor part is or how to replace it?

Got a similar issue. Anybody know what it could be? Mine goes down to no movement. Only happens occassionally

Hi folks,

Please have a look at my post on the AC/Heater Blower Motor posting (sorry haven't yet figured out how to insert link here). Mine was also squeeling and stopped working. I just changed the brushes and it is working a treat! Not sure about the capacitor/resistor part affecting the fan speed as this is not happening with mine (yet....touch wood). When I was putting the blower motor back in I did notice a blue component (similar to Holland's posting) above where the blower motor goes - perhaps check this as it may be the part you are referring to? Hope this helps you out?

I did the same: changed the brushes and it is like new!
I did notice that blue part above the blower (on top somehow)

Tried to take some pics for forum:

Hope this helps you out, as well

Good one Bebe! I was a bit embarrassed not having taken and posted pics - was a bit too excited about putting the thing back in to see if it worked....!! Good to see someone else was thinking more clearly!!!

I was just trying to payback for good pics and details that I found on this forum.
BTW the total cost for brushes replacement was CAD 160 (instead of $363 plus taxes at stealership)

Hi Bebe,
Where did you get the brushes and what's the part number ?
I should have these in my tool box for future repair.
Thanks.

There is a guy here in Edm that fixes electromotors and things like this. He was able to reproduce those brushes. I do belive that he cut them out from some bigger brushes. Anyway they work like crazy
