Just in case someone has to remove the headlight!
Final got the headlight out. The manual forgot to mention that after you release the locking leaver, you have to push down the top of the plastic part where the locking leaver engages. It has a post that fits up into the bottom of the light thus preventing it from turning.

I found your post......it look like our 2008 Touaregs are different than the other headlight removal posts on this site. I am trying to remove the passenger side headlight assembly or just access the bulbs to swap out. The driver side I can access the bulbs from the engine compartment..on the passenger side the air cleaner assembly is in the way of accessing the headlight bulbs. Any suggestions?

Anyone have info on 2008 T2 Headlight replacement (per above). I need to get the assembly out to replace the bulb, but I'm not seeing much info on how to remove/reinstall on a 2008 (or newer).

This is passenger side, so the air filter is in the way to just reach behind the headlight. I'm sure there is a trick here. Can anyone help? Pics would also help - but, anything is appreciated.

The instructions missed pressing down on the pin that is located within the locking mechanism which keeps the headlight from turning out when applying pressure on the signal part of the light. Push down on the bottom part of the locking mechanism to release the pin.

If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to make sure of what I think is the locking mech.

Thanks
